waistcoat, side two

waistcoat day

So glad the hard part is over with this. I’ve come to realise that I really don’t enjoy needlepoint and that I would really rather never do any again. Four ply tapestry wool is horrid – how do people work with it?

Yes, this side is gold and the other silver – the book said gold for both, but I changed it, I don’t like golden moons, they always look mucky.

I’d best get it sewn together. Unfortunately this will mean a trip to Bonds to buy some russia braid to trim the edges, and my weekend is already looking a bit hectic…

  1. Stunning work!

  2. I agree – tapestry wool is not the nicest stuff to work with. Given a choice, I’d go for crewel wool every time!

  3. I know needlepoint isn’t for everyone, perhaps you have to be the product of a peculiar mix of planetary alliances for it to be appealing, but there are a few of us out there, even if we’re not all that evangelical. Looks good though – your perseverance paid off.

  4. Clever clogs!

  5. Wow… really nice!

  6. Beautiful!! Now who is the lucky dog who gets to have this?
