is for parchment, which is hard to illustrate.

So I went all meta and made a little parchment scroll to put on my woolly scroll. It’s made out of very authentic actual sheepskin parchment…plus two cocktail sticks, some epoxy glue and four lapis lazuli beads.

Also, I finally found a use for two tiny bits of gold brocaded tablet weave that have been knocking around in my workbox for nearly twenty years.

And yes, that’s Brian the snail from the magic roundabout.

  1. That’s a very convincing little scroll. And it’s good to see Brian again!

  2. Love it!

  3. Your parchment scroll is wonderful!
If I weren’t a fan of your work already I would be one after seeing these letters.

  4. When you see only photographs, you don’t really appreciate the scale of what you are seeing. Knowing that the scroll ends are cocktail sticks brings home how tiny this is. And it is wonderful! As ever, I enjoy your humour as much as your creativity and stitchy loveliness. Nice to Brian; I’ll be looking out for Dougal, Ermintrude, or Zebedee – I’m confindent you could squeeze at least one of them in 🙂
