I did a display at Nottingham Lakeside arts on Saturday

It was steady with lots of nice people to talk to. I nearly cheered when I walked into the room and realised there was aircon.

and honestly, the concertina wooden washstand is one of the most useful things I’ve ever bought, I use it as much for displaying embroidery as I do for my washing.

Sunday I was making anglo saxon rings at the Ashmolean, and didn’t really take any photos or see what anyone else was doing because we were absolutely slammed all day – I completely lost track of how many rings I helped make. I didn’t even have time to eat lunch or pee. but there are some official Ashmolean pics of the event here, taken by Ian wallman the official photographer

I have to admit I love doing the ring making as a drop in activity because of the diverse age ranges who take part. It’s one thing to have both kids and mums and grandparents taking part, but an activity that can engage teenagers is pretty special.

  1. Thanks for sharing! I would have loved to visit it 🙂

  2. Yes, teenagers are a bit trickier. Especially when the rest of the family is having fun! But it looks like it was a great success!

  3. Your display is breathtaking – even via a photo and a computer screen.

  4. It looks like a brilliant day.
