As in, for the first time ever I forgot to post last week. I honestly meant to yesterday, but I was so brain dead after a long week that I forgot.

By long week I mean trekking down to Rugby sunday evening for Gareth’s dad’s funeral (no sorry for your your loss required) and coming back Tuesday afternoon to unload all gareth’s stuff from the van before loading for the IMc, which whilst it’s great fun is a series of very very long days.

As well as the Craft fair on Wednesday and making leeds medeival on THursday I also had a workshop to teach on Friday. We did opus faces this year, but I decided not to use any of the faces I’ve done before as they’re all rather large and it was only the five hour session. So I decided to do a much smaller face, and with a thicker thread than I’d normally use for flesh, in order to give the delegates a chance to make some progress whilst still learning the basic principles.

I did mine a week ago in order to do a step by step for the handout, and worked on it for about four hours. I figured that would be a reasonable approximation of what a student could do in five.

This is mine – he has different hair on the left because I used his unfinished side as a demo.

He’s a little rough and ready but he got the job done. Unfortunately I forgot to take any photos of the student’s work,(which was very good considering the short time they had) or of my magnificent setup at making leeds medeival.

I did sell an awful lot of penis nun kits at the craft fair though, as well as some penis nun tote bags and penis nun greetings cards.

Here is a picture someone else took of my stall at the craft fair – now with added penis nuns
