guthlac 2
finally finished guthlac panel 2

it’s been slow because I mainly work on these when I do school visits, and of course there was no work during lockdown, and since then I’ve been only doing two school visits perweek instead of five (by choice, not because theres no work).
Now I just need to wash the remains of my lunch off it and wet stretch it, which is easier said than done because I think the sheet of ply I use for stretching might be a bit buried
I wasn’t sure what was going on in this picture, so 8 had to go researching to the distant land of Google. He is getting a haircut from a Bishop., in order to become a monk. I am not sure that I would trust that Bishop with those shears!
I wouldn’t, he looks like he’s about to perform an amateur lobotomy
I agree with Sue, it looks an alarming experience all round!
it could be worse, in roman times the worshippers of isis were said to cut of something a bit more painful
The Bish is doing it one handed too!
in anglo saxon times a hairdressing test was part of the bishop exams
Came across your website whilst researching opus Anglicanum for my dissertation (on women’s role in preserving the Catholic faith post-Reformation) and just wanted to say your work is spectacular – keep it up! 😀
thanks!
